Corporate Social Responsibility has for many years been an integrated part of running Svendborg Brakes. It is therefore a natural next step for Svendborg Brakes, to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in a joint UN effort to better health, working conditions, working procedures and to take better care of the environment.
The 17 UN Goals were agreed by the world's heads of states at a UN meeting in 2015, aimed at creating a better world by 2030.
We have initially chosen to dedicate our attention to four of the UN goals and thereby strengthen some of our existing procedures even more:
The Sustainable Development Goals are 17 interlinked global goals and 169 sub-goals designed to be a ‘blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all’. The goals commit all 193 UN member states to eradicate poverty and hunger in the world, reduce inequalities, ensure good education, better health, decent jobs and a more sustainable economic growth.
The SDGs were set in New York on the 25th September 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly.
